Ugandan football mourns loss of 'passionate' Chelsea fan Musanan

Ugandan footballer Fahad Musanan has tragically died after suffering a heart attack on Sunday.

The 24-year old was reportedly watching his beloved Chelsea playing Manchester City on TV and fainted when Frank Lampard scored an equaliser against his old club.

It is believed that Musanan collapsed because of the shock at seeing the ex-Blues star score for City before friends rushed him to Bombo Military Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

"He has been a passionate fan of Chelsea and would do anything for the club," Musanan's friend Gerald Bagoole told Kawowo news agency.

"We trained with him on Sunday morning, had lunch together."

Of Musanan, who played with Uganda's military club Simba FC, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) added: "Fufa is in shock after receiving news about the sudden death of Simba FC player Musana Fahad in Bombo this evening.

"The body is currently at the Bombo Barracks Hospital. Burial arrangements will be communicated later."
