Udinese striker Simone Pepe has no complaints about his unfashionable tag with Italy.

"We are concentrated on the game and can see the finish line, but we will not be going to Ireland looking for a draw. We will do everything we can to win," said Udinese man Pepe.

"I am happy to be here and my only interest is that the group is concentrated on the matches with Ireland and Cyprus.

"We need two great performances and that is the only way to get results and keep being the squad we are now."

Pepe added: "We may not be spectacular, but we know how to fire up our fans. We're proud to be so-called 'workhorses' and are aware what this Italy side can give. We've proved it in the past and will do again in future.

"Everyone helps out and this makes it easier to get results. That is all that really matters."
