Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin has put his hand up for the Italy job.
Cesare Prandelli could leave his Italy post after the World Cup.
"Reading my name among the possible candidates makes me very proud. I'd like to lead the Nazionale," Guidolin told Radio Deejay.
"Being Italy Coach would also give me more time to recover from the stress. It would be a boost to my health as well as great work.
"I do like the day-to-day work at club level, but I've been doing this for 40 years, so a new experience would be welcome."
