Atsuto Uchida is hoping Schalke can return to the winners list when they meet Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League this week.
The Gelsenkirchen club squandered a two-goal lead to be held to a 3-3 draw by Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on the weekend prompting the Japanese defender to target a much-needed win in Europe over the Romanians at Arena National on Tuesday.
"It's another competition altogether," Uchida explained. "Steaua are strong, but it will be important for us to get something away from home."
In relation to the Frankfurt draw, Uchida added: "It's just a shame we didn't manage to win.
"We've had several such games during the first half of the season. We just have to keep playing and show how strong we are."
Schalke, who sit sixth on the domestic table, currently find themselves second in Group E - three points behind leaders Chelsea, a point ahead of third-placed Basel and four clear of Steaua.
