Typical Lita performance for England U21

It was typical Leroy Lita last night as the Reading striker impressed in England U21's 2-2 draw with Italy.

Before putting England 2-0 ahead, Lita had hit the bar and missed a gaping open goal as the Three Lions threatened to blow Italy away.

"I see Leroy Lita setting the world alight in training and sometimes you can't hold those types of players back," England U21 boss Stuart Pearce said. "The players pick the team and not the coach, they put me under so much pressure.

"I was bit disappointed with the performance against Czech Republic, so we felt it was the right thing to do."

Lita added: "I wanted to make sure I got on the scoresheet. I'm not one of those players who's going to hide."
