Two-goal hero Commons at the top of his game - Celtic's Lennon

Celtic's Neil Lennon feels that attacking midfielder Kris Commons is currently at the peak of his powers.

The 30-year old, who won the SPFL Player of the Month for December, netted a brace as the Hoops beat Motherwell 3-0 at home on Saturday.

The brace took Commons' season tally to 14 in the league and 18 in all competitions which prompted high praise from his boss.

"Kris Commons is such an important player for us and his all-round game is very good at the minute. He's at the top of his game," said Lennon.

Commons has now scored eight goals in his past nine league outings and four in three in the New Year.
