Turf Moor is an intimidating place to play - Burnley new boy Barton

Joey Barton has revealed that Turf Moor is an intimidating stadium for opposition players.

Barton has received a lot of stick whenever he has played at the Lancashire venue as an opposition player and after having joined Burnley this summer, the midfielder has admitted that it is intimidating to play in such a passionate stadium.

Barton told the club's official website: "I've said that Turf Moor is an intimidating place to come to as an away player and it's a passionate ground.

"They've certainly singled me out in the past for a bit of stick in the past, and I like that. I'm not a player who is a shrinking violet. Coming to those grounds. as a player who can deal with, that means that might take the pressure off someone else who can't."
