Tuchel admits Dortmund dominated Tottenham

Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel was left pleased by his side's comprehensive 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Dortmund put in a footballing master class to claim a comfortable victory over the Premier League's second-placed side in the first leg of the Round of 16 at Westfalenstadion.

BVB boss Tuchel was understandably left very pleased with his side's effort during the clash and stated that they made it very difficult for Tottenham to play.

The Dortmund boss said: "We played confident, we managed to keep the spaces very tight for Tottenham to find their combination game.

"We attacked them very early to not allow theme easily to come into our half. We created a lot of chances and defended carefully. I'm very happy with the performance.

"I know how hard it is to defend all this individual quality, we did an amazing job in defence. It is a very hard-working team I have here, very open-minded. They are eager to learn, eager for solutions."

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring in the first half before Marco Reus grabbed a second-half double as Dortmund placed one foot in the Europa League quarter-finals.
