Newcastle United were 'frustrated' with their performance against Southampton.
That is according to right-back and England star Kieran Trippier, who spoke to reporters after the game.
The Magpies came away from St. Mary's Stadium with an emphatic 4-1 success to go third in the Premier League.
The England international told Sky Sports: "It sounds good but we're frustrated in the way we played today.
“We played nowhere near our best.
"We all know that, the manager said that at half-time but the most important thing is the win.
“We move one step closer now."
Teammate Bruno Guimaraes added: "It's nice, I'm happy but sad it wasn't our best today.
“But the most important thing is to get the three points and to score for Matteo [newborn son]. The goal was for him, and I'm really happy."
