TRANSFER RECAP: Cech joins Arsenal, Podolski heads to Galatasaray and Liverpool land Clyne

Revisit all of last week's Premier League transfer action as the summer window begins to heat up.

Below is a recap of transfers comings and goings from England's top flight between July 29 and June 5.

Chelsea great Cech joins Arsenal

Veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech left Chelsea, his club of 11 years, to join Arsenal for a reported £10million. The 32-year old won 13 trophies during his spell at Stamford Bridge and his arrival at the Emirates Stadium has the Gunners fans excited ahead of a potentially successful new era.

Cult hero Dicks added to West Ham's coaching staff

Across the English capital, West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic made a change to his coaching staff by appointing fellow former defender Julian Dicks. The 46-year old, who played for the Hammers from 1988 to 1993, had been acting as manager of the East London club's Ladies side but will now operate as first-team coach under new boss Bilic.

Former Chelsea coach Wilkins appointed by Aston Villa

Aston Villa also made a coaching move by adding Ray Wilkins to Tim Sherwood's backroom staff. The 58-year old former Manchester United, Chelsea and QPR star has vast coaching experience which includes a stint as Fulham manager and assistant with the Blues.

Pearson sacked by Leicester

Leicester City made a huge call by sacking manager Nigel Pearson. The 51-year old guided the Foxes to a 14th-place finish on the Premier League table, after sitting on the bottom for much of the campaign, but the club stated that 'fundamental differences in perspective' made the working relationship 'no longer viable'.

Guangzhou Evergrande land Paulinho from Tottenham

Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande landed a massive coup in the form of Paulinho. The Brazilian midfielder joined the reigning CSL champions from Tottenham for £9.9m, linking up with former national team boss Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Bournemouth bring in Distin

Premier League new boys Bournemouth landed French defender Sylvain Distin from Everton as they begin to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2015/16 season.

Liverpool land Clyne from Southampton

Liverpool again dipped into their savings by landing Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton for a reported fee of £12.5m, allowing him to link up with former Saints teammates Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Rickie Lambert.

Amos leaves Man Utd for Bolton

Goalkeeper Ben Amos left Manchester United to join Championship club Bolton on a free.

Vydra exits Udinese for permanent Watford deal

Czech Republic striker Matej Vydra completed his permanent move from Italian club Udinese to top flight returnees Watford following another successful loan with the Hornets.

Hamburg shift for Holtby

German midfielder Lewis Holtby returned to his homeland to join Hamburg from Tottenham after spending time there on loan last term.

Swansea capture Eder

Swansea City made a much-needed striker signing by landing Portuguese attacker Eder from Sporting Braga.

Coates swaps Liverpool for Sunderland

Sunderland made permanent the loan of Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates from Liverpool.

Richards drops to Championship

Wales international Jazz Richards left Swansea in search of regular game time at second tier club Fulham.

Falcao loaned to Chelsea

Colombian striker Radamel Falcao joined Premier League champions Chelsea on loan from Monaco following his sub-par spell with Man Utd last season.

Matthews departs Celtic for Sunderland

Adam Matthews left Scottish champions Celtic to test himself in England's top flight with Sunderland.

And Galatasaray landed Podolski from Arsenal

Lukas Podolski ended his time with Arsenal to sign with Turkish giants Galatasaray.
