Toyota to sponsor UAE

The UAE Football Association (UAE FA) has agreed a four-year sponsorship agreement with Japanese car manufacturer Toyota, reports SportsPro. The deal, agreed between the soccer governing body and Emirates-based Toyota distributor Al Futtaim Motors, will see Toyota become the official automotive supplier to the UAE FA national teams, from the senior team to the Under 13 team.

As such, Al-Futtaim Motors will supply the UAE FA with 30 Toyota SUV and Sedan vehicles and receive advertising exposure at all UAE FA home games.

UAE FA chief Yousuf Alserkal said: "Sponsors always played an important role in the development of football, especially in modern times, when this game became the most popular sport in the world. We are proud to partner with corporations and national institutions that contribute to the development of this sport and provide the right support for us to reach the highest degrees of progress. We take this opportunity to thank Al-Futtaim Motors for joining family of UAE FA sponsors."

Simon Firth, managing director of Al-Futtaim Motors, added: "We understand that the people of the UAE have a strong passion for football. This rapidly growing sport has lately seen increasing support from all concerned parties, especially after the recent success of the UAE team at the Gulf Cup. We are proud to take part in the future successes of this nation and contribute to a more athletic community."
