Fernando believes that Manchester City teammate Yaya Toure is still one of the best midfielders in the world.

Toure has clearly not performed to his high standards this season and it is widely expected that the midfielder will be offloaded by the club during the upcoming summer as he is seemingly past his peak.

However, teammate Fernando believes that Toure is still one of the best around in world football and has a lot to offer to City in the coming years.

"Yaya for me is one of the best players in his position in the world," Fernando enthused to the Manchester Evening News.

"We see it every day and even though he is a little older now, he still has a lot to offer to this team. I am sure he will continue to do that for us - it makes me happy to play with him."
