Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas says he was happy with the strict diet regime of former coach Juande Ramos.
"Obviously, different managers have different ideas on how they want things to be run and one thing Juande was very keen on was diet," Jenas told the Daily Mail.
"I was fine with it and thoroughly enjoyed the meals that we were getting. I was one of the players who he wanted to put on more weight."
Not all his team-mates were so keen, but Jenas dismisses suggestions that it is all pie and peas since Harry Redknapp took over.
"On the food side of things he lets the fitness coaches get on with it, but he does understand that it is a big part of football."
Jenas gives equally short shrift to the idea that Redknapp's chirpy East End personality alone has been enough to get Spurs moving in the right direction.
"Harry is very hands on: he is always on the training ground dictating what is happening, especially when it comes to tactics.
"He makes big decisions that managers have to make. You do not get as far as he has just from putting your arm round players and making them feel good."
