Tottenham are yet to open new contract talks with Gareth Bale.

The Mail on Sunday says Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is desperate to keep hold of Bale to give his side an opportunity of challenging towards the top of the Premier League next season.

But reports that he is currently in negotiations over a new deal with the club are wide of the mark.
