FC Twente coach Steve McClaren was impressed by Tottenham striker Simon Dawkins in trials last week.

Dawkins spent a few days training with Twente in a bid to land a deal with the Dutch high-flyers.

TC Tubantia says McClaren was impressed by Dawkins, but won't be signing the striker this month. Instead, he'll wait until the summer to consider a deal for the player.
