Tottenham will go head-to-head with North London rivals Arsenal to win the services of Ipswich Town young gun Connor Wickham.
The highly-rated 17-year old is certain to leave Portman Road for a bigger club in the summer and reports suggest that Spurs are at the head of the queue after it came to attention that Ipswich owner Marcus Evans had discussed the possibility of a deal with his counterparts at White Hart Lane.
His value has risen to £15million after he bagged a hat-trick for the Tractor Boys against Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night and even though he recently extended his contract until 2013, Tottenham are believed to be prepared to meet the buyout clause fee to bring the England U21 international to London and the Premier League.
