Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel has opened the door to a possible return to the USA national team.
The 41-year old gloveman retired from the international scene in 2005 but suggested on Twitter that he is prepared to step up if the team needed him.
Everton number one Tim Howard could miss 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Costa Rica and Mexico later this month with Aston Villa's Brad Guzan set to be his replacement and Friedel says he will be waiting in the wings if anything else happens to Juergen Klinsmann's top two netminders.
"GK situation US: YOU ARE IN GREAT HANDS WITH GUZAN!!!! If he was also hurt of course I would consider helping until Tim and Brad were fit!!," he posted.
"That is if asked by the way, which I have not been."
The USA lost their opening final round qualifier to Honduras 2-1 last month ahead of the Colorado meeting with Costa Rica on March 22 and the trip to Mexico City four days later.
