Tottenham have made contact with Real Madrid for defender Jose Ignacio Fernandez.

Castilla defender Nacho has been promoted to the Real senior squad this season by coach Jose Mourinho due to an injury crisis.

Spurs enjoy a close relationship with Real thanks to the sale of Luka Modric and are keen to take Nacho on-loan in January with the view to a permanent deal.
