PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino resisted two major offers to leave Paris last month, it has been revealed.
Pochettino only took charge of PSG in January, but was offered the chance to quit at the end of last season.
Le Parisien says Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy put in a call to Pochettino to enquire about the prospect of a return. No offer from Levy was tabled, instead Pochettino was asked about the idea of a return to London.
Meanwhile, after the departure of Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez made a more formal and aggressive approach to the Argentine.
Florentino called Pochettino directly, offering him the Real Madrid job.
However, both parties soon withdrew when it became clear it would be too complicated for Pochettino to extract himself from his PSG contract.
