According to reports, Tottenham are ready to purchase Notts County goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and then loan him back to the club.

The 23-year old Dane joined the ambitious League Two club in August last year after close to six years with Manchester City which took in numerous loan spells but it looks as though he may officially become a Spurs player.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is keen to snap up the son of former Manchester United great Peter for around £2million and is set to beat Birmingham and Blackburn to his signature.

It is believed that Redknapp will then loan him back to County to further develop his game so he can return to White Hart Lane as their number one.
