Tottenham are set to hijack West Ham United's pursuit of Pedro Obiang.

Tuttosport claims that Spurs are showing significant interest in the Sampdoria midfielder and could make a move when the summer transfer window opens.

Tottenham's London rivals West Ham have already been heavily linked with Obiang, 23, but now face healthy competition for his services.

The Spaniard, who would attract a transfer fee of around £5.5million, has been with Sampdoria since arriving from Atletico Madrid's academy as a 16-year old.
