Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is chasing Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

The News of the World says Redknapp wants a proven top-flight stopper to replace the error-prone Heurelho Gomes and has toyed with making a move for Newcastle's Shay Given.

But he knows he faces a better chance of landing Jaaskelainen, 33, even though the Finnish keeper only signed a new deal at the Reebok Stadium in the summer.

Bolton will ask for £7million but Redknapp reckons the lure of a higher-profile club in the capital will help seal a £4m deal.
