Tottenham offer increases compensation fee for Liverpool target Ings

Danny Ings could cost Liverpool a record compensation fee of £8million according to reports.

It is believed that Tottenham's offer of £12m for the striker, which was accepted by Burnley on Wednesday, could bump up the tribunal payment owed to the Clarets.

Ings, 22, is believed to be keen on a move to Anfield and with the final decision lying with the player himself, the Reds may have to fork out almost double for the man who joined Bunley as a teenager from Bournemouth four years ago.

Tottenham's bid is seen as strange considering Ings will be available for free at the start of July but it shows that Spurs are determined to land the man who scored 11 Premier League goals for the relegated Clarets last season.
