Tottenham's move for Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio has stalled.
The Daily Star says the deal is complicated by the fact Villarreal owe around 35 per cent of any transfer to Musacchio's former club River Plate.
Spurs remain hopeful of getting their man but Villarreal are prepared to dig their heels in about the fee.
The Londoners value Musacchio at around £17m, but his club are determined to hold out for closer to £20m and are trying to reduce how much of that is paid to River.
