Tottenham have confirmed midfielder Alex Pritchard will be sidelined for the rest of the year after undergoing surgery, reports Sky Sports.

Pritchard, who has made two first-team appearances, originally sustained an injury to his right ankle while playing for England's U21s against Sweden at the European Championships in June.

The 22 year-old midfielder has now undergone corrective surgery and is expected to be out for at least three months.
