Tottenham star James Maddison has admitted he was envious of watching Premier League teams in Europe this week.

Maddison and his teammates have been absent from continental tournaments this season.

However, the no.10 hopes that his Spurs can have nights such as the ones Arsenal and Manchester City have been enjoying in the Champions League.

“As a player, you don't always share the same things but we want to be in the Champions League," said the 27-year-old, per football.london.

“I sat there last night [Tuesday] watching two huge quarter-final clashes and it's a competition that we at Tottenham need to be in."
