Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks excited by tour opportunity

Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks enjoyed their post-season tour of Asia.

The 19-year-old central midfielder figured heavily in both matches on the trip, completing the full 90 minutes in our 2-1 win over a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur before going on as a substitute for Ryan Mason just after the hour mark as we defeated Sydney FC 1-0 in Australia.

"It's been brilliant and I've loved every minute of it," the England youth international told the Spurs website. "Being in with the first team the whole time has been great and to get a lot of game time with them has been excellent as well.

"The older the boys have been very helpful to me and the other young lads. Every time we need a bit of advice they give it to us. They're very friendly, have been very supportive and have helped us out a lot.

"The backing from the fans we've received has been amazing as well. When you come to these places it's mesmerising with the amount of people that support you.

"Even for someone like me, the exposure with the first team means that I've come away and people know who I am! It's been a great experience, a brilliant trip to come on and it's great to see so many fans on the other side of the world."
