Tottenham management convinced Real Madrid playing games over Ronaldo injury

Tottenham have dismissed reports of hamstring concerns for Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Harry Redknapp, the Tottenham manager, could not make it to the Spanish capital to watch Real play Atlético in the derby on Saturday night and so he sent his assistants Tim Sherwood and Les Ferdinand.

"He didn't look like he had a hamstring problem to me," Sherwood told the Guardian. "It looked like he had two friendly games for Portugal which he might want to get out of."

"The player who stuck out like a sore thumb [against Atlético] was Ronaldo," Sherwood continued. "He is obviously a special talent. You talk about world-class players ... I think it's unfair to put Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in that category because they are out of this world and the rest are world-class."
