Teddy Sheringham has been given permission to speak to Stevenage regarding their manager's position.
The 49-year old former Tottenham and Manchester United striker currently holds a coaching role at West Ham United but could be installed as the next manager of League Two outfit Stevenage.
Boro boss Graham Westley is out of contract in the summer which leaves the door open for ex-England international Sheringham to undertake his first managerial role.
