Tottenham Hotspur have entered into a new partnership with Australasian-based licensing agency Velocity Brand Management (VBM). The agency has taken on the task of building Tottenham's brand across Australia and New Zealand over the next three years by helping to source new licensees.
Australia and New Zealand are two key markets in the Oceania region where Spurs are estimated to have around 2 million followers.
In Australia in particular, Spurs supporters clubs have already been established in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and the Gold Coast, while the north London club last year launched soccer development programmes in Perth and Dunsborough.
Gary Jacobson, brand licensing manager at Tottenham Hotspur, said: "We're delighted to announce a partnership with Velocity Brand Management to develop our international licensing programme across Australasia.
"As a club we're always looking to take Tottenham Hotspur into new and exciting areas of retail. VBM has an extensive network of contacts across Australasia and can help us understand retail trends and consumer habits within the region.
"Over the course of the next three years, we aim to build close relationships with new licensees that are keen to leverage the brand and global fan-base of a leading Premier League football club on the continent."
