Tottenham are lining up a bid for Southampton fullback Luke Shaw.

The People says the last time Spurs signed a teenage left-back from Saints, Gareth Bale became the most expensive player in the world.

And now technical director Franco Baldini believes the club should make an offer for Shaw, 18, who has been outstanding in his club's fine start to the season.

The academy graduate put pen to paper on a new five-year deal at St Mary's during the summer.
