Brad Friedel is among the candidates for the Columbus Crew head coaching job according to reports.
Fox Soccer Daily and SI.com are heavily linking the 42-year old Tottenham goalkeeper with a return to his former club as they seek a replacement for Robert Warzycha after he and the Crew parted ways in early September.
Friedel is believed to have already interviewed for the Crew role as he begins preparing for life after the Premier League but he will have to beat interim coach Brian Bliss to the job as he has guided the Ohio club to four wins in six matches.
Former USA international Friedel has been in England with the likes of Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Aston Villa and Spurs since leaving Columbus back in 1997.
