Rennes striker Jimmy Briand is rated highly by new Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, who has also been alerted to the potential availability of Bordeaux centre-forward Fernando Cavenaghi.

Redknapp is keen to add a new forward to his squad and is considering a bid for Argentina international Cavenaghi.
