Tottenham interim manager Mason puts hand up for permanent deal

Tottenham interim manager Ryan Mason has admitted he would love to take charge of the team next season.

Mason now has the reigns at Spurs between now and the end of the season.

The club have let Cristian Stellini leave, after he was put in charge following the sacking of Antonio Conte.

On the permanent job, Mason stated to reporters: “Yeah obviously I'm ready and if that situation happens it obviously means I have done a good job. But that is obviously in the future of four five six weeks' time, like I said the immediate thought is the game on Thursday and the game on Sunday. We have big weeks before anyone in here can start to think of that situation."

He then added on chairman Daniel Levy: “Yeah obviously from a club point of view the situation we're in now is not where we wanted to be or expected to be at the start of the season but ultimately that's football. It happens sometimes and we can't get caught up on things that have happened. We all understand we have to finish this season well and strong and united as a group within this training ground. That is my job ultimately to do that."
