Tottenham include Bent in bid for Sunderland striker Jones

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is refusing to give up on his bid for Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones.

The Daily Mail says Redknapp is keen on Sunderland's Jones and is ready to offer Darren Bent plus cash in exchange for the Trinidad and Tobago striker.

But after Bent's shocking miss late in the 1-1 draw against Portsmouth, Sunderland manager Ricky Sbragia is unlikely to be convinced that the former Charlton striker is an adequate replacement.

Redknapp said: "It was a great chance. You're not going to get a better one to win a game. We were going home with three points, simple as that. David James had given up on it."
