Tottenham are finalising their deal for Barcelona striker David Villa this week.

The Daily Star says Villa is entering the final year of his contract at the Nou Camp. He signed a four-year deal worth £6.4m a year back in 2010 and a clause in his contract means he will pick up £9.4m in the final 12 months.

It is this - coupled with the need to bank some money to increase their summer spending - that has convinced Barca to sell.
