Mauricio Pochettino felt his Tottenham side were much better value than a 1-0 loss on Sunday.
Spurs were beaten by Manchester City at White Hart Lane to remain sixth on the table, seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, effectively ending their Champions League hopes.
In the wake of the defeat, Pochettino suggested that perhaps the performance of his team was worth more than a single goal loss.
"I'm feeling very disappointed with the result but at the same time I was happy with the performance because it was very good," he said.
"We deserved more this afternoon. I think that we managed the game, the tempo and we created more chances than Manchester City but we didn't score. In football, if we don't score, it is difficult to win the game."
City scored the only goal of the game through Sergio Aguero who fired home in the 29th minute for his 22nd league goal of the campaign.
