Tottenham defensive pair Romero and Sanchez to make Chelsea showdown

Tottenham defensive pair Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez are set to be available for the derby against Chelsea this weekend.

South American contingent Romero, Sanchez and Giovani Lo Celso have been training in Croatia with a Spurs coach to avoid having to self-isolate for 10 days upon their return from international duty in red-list zones last week.

The trio are due to arrive back in England on Saturday, just 24 hours before their game against Chelsea.

Their returns come at a timely moment for Nuno, whose plans in central defence are unclear heading into the weekend, says the Daily Mail.

Japhet Tanganga, who played at centre back against Crystal Palace on Saturday, is suspended following his red card at Selhurst Park.

There is hope that Eric Dier will be fit for the game against Chelsea after he limped off with a dead leg against Palace, but there will be more clarity over his situation closer to the game.

But the potential availability of Romero and Sanchez gives Nuno options in defence.
