Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen won't rule out a return to Ajax.

Off contract in June, Vertonghen has admitted to Belgian TV that re-signing for Ajax in June is a possibility.

Now in self-isolation due to the coronavirus suspension, Vertonghen told Vier: "A return to Ajax? Who knows, that is in the planning..."

Vertonghen's comments arrive just weeks after Ajax coach Erik ten Hag confirmed their interest.

“Jan is a player with a past at Ajax," said Ten Hag.

"He knows the philosophy of the club. Of course we are following his situation emphatically."
