Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong is ready for a showdown with Inter Milan ace Samuel Eto'o.

Bassong has now revealed the pair had spent the build- up to the last encounter winding each other up.

But it seemed to inspire Eto'o as he bagged a brace in Inter's 4-3 win.

Bassong, 24, said: "The thing is I am used to playing with Eto'o, and also against him in training with the national team.

"But he is a great player, amazing technically, and I really had to concentrate.

"I'd been in touch with him before the game and we were texting each other. I took the p*** out of him, and he took the p*** about me.

"I get to play against him again now very quickly - but I tell you what, I won't be texting him back when he texts me!

"I hope it is going to be a different story this time around at White Hart Lane."
