Benoit Assou-Ekotto has had his contract cancelled by Tottenham.
The Cameroon defender had not played for Spurs since 2013.
Assou-Ekotto spent last season on loan in the Championship with QPR and reportedly turned down a number of offers from clubs in England's second tier during the summer.
Spurs tweeted: 'We can confirm that Benoit Assou-Ekotto has been released from his contract with the Club. We wish him well.'
