Tottenham development coach Tim Sherwood hopes Andros Townsend grabs his chance at QPR.

If Townsend shines, it will please Sherwood, Spurs' head of football development, who believes many of the home-grown crop are capable of succeeding at the top level.

"If Andros is tackled by the full?back 10 times, he'll beat him the 11th and win you the game," said Sherwood.

"He'd prefer to play in a situation like QPR's. He's got that single-minded, mean streak you need and he won't care if he gets stick from the crowd."
