Tottenham coach Jordan full of pride over Champions League achievements

Tottenham coach Joe Jordan is full of pride over their run to the Champions League quarterfinals.

Jordan famously clashed with Rino Gattuso during and after their victory at AC Milan last month.

"Our performance in the San Siro showed real maturity," he said.

"We showed that Spurs as a team has added to what we didn't have before.

"We've been tested a number of times in the competition and you can go back as far as Bern, when we were in dire straights but we got out of it and we learned from that.

"To go to a place like the San Siro against the league leaders of Italy and put in a performance like we did showed maturity, experience, knowledge and composure."

Question marks over Tottenham's defensive capabilities had led to doubts about their ability to beat the Italians but Jordan reckons any doubts will have now disappeared after the team recorded two clean sheets against the Rossoneri.

"AC Milan is a club that knows how to win games, knows how to come back and they showed that in their performance," he said.

"We kept two clean sheets against a team that is playing very well at the moment.

"The three strikers Robinho, Ibrahimovic and Pato, could grace any team in the world. So our back four especially will rightly be delighted that they've come up against a forward line like that and managed to keep them out."
