Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants to bring former England team manager Franco Baldini back to London.
The Mirror says Spurs are still looking at appointing a head of recruitment to work alongside manager Andre Villas-Boas and Baldini remains the outstanding candidate.
Sources in Italy claim that Baldini, who is general manager at Roma, may now be open to an approach from Tottenham, after opting to stay in Italy last year.
Baldini already has a good relationship with Villas-Boas and wanted to take the Portuguese to Roma before he was appointed Chelsea manager.
Tottenham's desire to appoint a head of recruitment is no reflection on the work of Villas-Boas and has long been chairman Daniel Levy's plan.
