Tottenham caretaker boss Ryan Mason has refused to confirm captain Hugo Lloris for next season.

Mason has confirmed the France goalkeeper's season is over due to a thigh injury.

He said this morning: "Hugo is out for the season, we've had the results back. Obviously it's disappointing. We feared that initially and now we've had the results back."

On whether he has played his last game for the club, Mason added: "I can't speak about next season.

"What I can say is he's got a very important role for us until the end of the season. He's our captain and we need him. We need him to be a big part of the group and I'm sure he will be."
