Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas fears a Manchester City backlash.
City have so far looked a long way short of the formidable side that won the title last season.
They take on Spurs tomorrow after failing to win three of their last four games and following back-to-back draws against West Ham and then Ajax.
But Villas-Boas said: "What we face is the champions of England.
"It is a totally different proposition to our last game against Maribor, a totally different approach.
"They are coming from a run of bad results so they will be wanting to bounce back. They will be completely different games.
"Last year they had an amazing start but then they had a dip towards the end. With so much talent and ability, they are always in a condition to bounce back. They will put on a performance for sure."
