Tottenham boss Redknapp seeks new keeper after admitting Cesar no option

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits he wants to sign a new goalkeeper.

After their 1-1 draw with Portsmouth, Redknapp revealed Heurelho Gomes (groin) would not have started if he had adequate back-up, but only youngster Ben Alnwick and Spanish veteran Cesar Sanchez are available.

This week will see Redknapp step up his search for a reserve stopper.

"It's an area I'm looking at," he said. "I'm looking for someone who is good enough for the first team when you need him.

"If I had confidence in the Spanish goalkeeper, I would have played him."
