Tottenham are closing in on unsettled Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
talkSPORT says Spurs are in pole position to land the Chelsea striker whose days at Stamford Bridge have been numbered since the arrival of Fernando Torres for a British transfer record fee of £50m.
A striker is a top priority for Spurs boss Harry Redknapp and 33-year-old Drogba fits the profile with 145 goals in 306 games for Chelsea.
Drogba is Redknapp's top target, but his wages are the only stumbling block.
Spurs will have to smash their wage structure to land the Ivorian who is also attracting interest from Manchester City, a move which would see him united with Ivory Coast teammates Kolo and Yaya Toure.
