Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits he hates the January transfer window.

"I hate the transfer window," he claimed. "I'm just glad I changed my phone number and not too many people have got it. I hate having football agents phoning up and pushing useless players to you and telling you they are world beaters.

"You get agents calling up offering players and it would only cost you your job if you took them. I know exactly what I want and it is a waste of time calling up for anyone else. I have a very short list of players that interest me and if we can get them then great.

"If we can't get them or they are too expensive as some of them seem to be - the chairman has been quoted some silly prices when he has enquired - then we won't bother, we'll crack on with what we've got and find someone else.

"I'm not taking any chances. I can't guarantee they'll be successful but they will be people who I think are good players. If they turn out to be bad players then I'll take the blame - you can blame me 100%. I'm not bringing someone from abroad who I don't know everything there is to know about them."
