Tottenham boss Redknapp full of praise for 2-goal Keane

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp was delighted with their 3-2 win over Fiorentina.

Robbie Keane struck in the final minute to win an entertaining, competitive encounter and our final friendly of the summer before the big kick-off against City in the Barclays Premier League next Saturday.

The Italians were clinical in front of goal to take a 2-1 lead into half-time.

Spurs had the better of the match throughout but Alberto Gilardino and Adem Ljajic cashed in on Fiorentina's only serious opportunities.

In between, Giovani dos Santos, who was outstanding on the left, right and then in behind Keane, set-up Roman Pavlyuchenko to level.

The second half was one-way traffic, Keane levelled from Tom Huddlestone's assist after 57 minutes and Spurs spent the next half-hour chipping away before Keane finally found a way through in the final minute.

"It was a good run out against good opposition," Redknapp told the Spurs website.

"They only had two strikes on goal and they both ended up in the back of the net, but we came back and that was good.

"They were difficult to break down but we came from 1-0 and 2-1 down and then Robbie supplied two great goals, the sort of runs and finishes he's been doing throughout pre-season.

"I was pleased and I thought we looked lively.

"We went to Benfica on Tuesday and put on a good performance against fantastic opposition, a very good team, a clever team with top players, so to win there was great.

"We conceded poor goals against Fiorentina but to respond how we did was good."
